MISSION:
Insure that every spouse and child of our severely wounded military and civilian heroes
has access to education and training necessary to provide family unity and happiness
and make right the tremendous fear and apprehension that may encompass them. To relieve or help to relieve the post traumatic stress syndrome and the danger of suicide suffered by many by focusing on education, physical fitness and sports such as sponsored by the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama. In this way they will be able to see more clearly a bright future that is lacking after disaster strikes. WE WILL PREVAIL and reach out to as many as possible restricted only by our earnings, contributions and grants!
RECENT FAMILIES HELPED:
· Arranged entry into a major university for the daughter of a 100% disabled vet.
· Awarded a $2,000 scholarship to the daughter of a 100% disabled vet.
· Coordinating efforts to have the spouse accepted into RN college, an ongoing project.
· Arranged tickets for the 2010 Iron Bowel Game for two vet amputees and their wives.
· Paid the utility bills for a 90% disabled vet’s family.
· Sent the wife and three year old son of a 90% disabled vet to the circus which they were longing to do but could not afford.
· Created a financial consulting five year plan for a bankrupt family.
· Paid $1000 tuition assistance to the spouse of a severely wounded warrior.
· Found several sources of new income for a destitute family which made them whole again.
Sent a $2,000 check to the wife of a 90% disabled vet to pay rent and utilities until new income could be arranged. Paid $300 for food etc. Paid $175 for psychiatric care.
Getting close to Christmas and The Foundation sent a $1776.46 check to the wife of a 100% disabled vet who was desperate for financial help being underwater in several categories. This is the exact amount needed to carry the family through Christmas and until their social security check comes in. She is a full time care giver and they have a six year old son who will now have a good Christmas. She is wonderful, caring and protective of her family; and The Foundation is so proud to help!
Sent a $1500 grant to the wife of a 90% disabled vet in Kileen, Texas (Ft. Hood). This will partially pay back debt until new income applications materialize. They don't have much left for Christmas so The Wounded Warrior Family Foundation will send enough so that the daughter will have at least one nice gift.

Here is a recent letter from another caring person:
Bonnie R. Wolfe donated on behalf of her Mom who recently passed away.
“This donation is being made in the name of Virginia Mae Allred, (my mother) who passed away July 31st. She was 89 years old. Mom was married to a disabled World War 2 veteran and she was very aware of the difficulties they face just trying to live everyday in a world that is not designed for people who are physically challenged. These people who deserve so much from all of us, (and receive so little) have always been 1st in her heart. I know she would want them remembered and would be happy that this donation was made for her. God Bless You All." Bonnie R. Wolfe
